Anthurium Crystallinum species is known for its large, velvety, heart-shaped leaves with prominent shimmering veins and a stunning iridescent sheen. This epiphytic plant has red emergent leaves and circular smooth petioles
As these plants are Anthurium Crystallinum Hybrids, they retain many of the striking features of their parent plant. These features include the distinctive velvety texture and bold, contrasting veins. Hybrids, however, often exhibit some unique characteristics that set them apart from their species counterparts. For example, the hybrid leaves may have slightly different shapes, sizes, or colours.
The plant pictured is the plant you will receive. They require warm temperatures and humidity to really thrive. They have been grown in passive hydro (perlite & GT complete focus diluted to 5 ml per litre of water). Please see the 'more info' section below to learn more about the current growing conditions and suggested care on arrival.
We find that Anthuriums grow well in passive hydroponics, and growing them this way makes them easier to care for.
If grown in soil, they'll need an extremely well draining mix. It's also important to keep their soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged, as Anthuriums are susceptible to root rot. To encourage healthy growth, fertilise your Anthurium every 4-6 weeks during the growing season with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser. Anthuriums are susceptible to fertiliser burn, so stick to a weak dilution of fertiliser.
